Art Habit

Sarah Castille, an artist and writer from Sunset, LA, is the owner, store manager, and head instructor of Art Habit. After over a decade of teaching English in the US and Europe, Sarah realized that she was burnt out, exhausted, and craving creativity. At the age of 32, she decided to devote her life to making art. She trained in Classical Painting and Drawing at London Fine Arts Studios and in workshops with artists like Lucas Boniono, Karen Offut, Teresa Oaxaca, Kathleen Hudson, Christiana Kubrick, Carol Ann Peebles, and more. After many years experimenting with balancing the cost of making art with the cost of living, including 7 years aboard a 30ft catamaran off the chilly coast of East Anglia and 5 years in a crumbling renovation project in Brittany, France, Sarah is making it her mission to ensure that everyone can have affordable access to the arts. For her, that means quality art education, a space to be creative, and a community of fellow artists who believe in you and want to see you succeed. Art Habit is the first step towards realizing that vision.
