Who? You!
Observational drawing is the practice of drawing what you see, from life. It can be a beautiful form of mediation that makes you more alive to the world surrounding you — or just a really pleasurable way to improve your drawing skills in the company of nice people.
In this class, we will work on developing our ability to see the world around us and then translate what we see into drawings on paper. We will experiment with exercises like blind contour drawing, negative space drawing, mark making, collaborative drawing, and more. We will work both in the studio and outside (in nice weather only!), honing our drawing skills and building a tool kit for representing the three dimensional world on paper.
